I want Gwen and Merlin to be friends again.
Yeah. Whatever happened to the Gwen and Merlin of first season when they talked about guys together and schemed together and probably had slumber parties in Morgana’s chambers where they talked more about guys and Merlin denied how much he blatantly loved Arthur and Gwen was all shy about mooning over Lancelot and Morgana drank a lot because she couldn’t get any tail in Camelot, and everyone was besties??
… Those were the bestie years of our lives!
“Lamia” was full of plot holes. And not the little plot holes in other episodes that you can step over and go on merrily about your shipping way. Big plot holes. Plot holes like craters in which merry, way-finding shippers going jauntily along can fall into and twist their merry, way-finding ankles.
Gwen had four whole other big, strapping, young Round Table knights she could have asked for her dramatic “protect my love” moment. She went with Lancelot. Lancelot, who she knows pines after her in noble, knightly fashion, and who probably cried manly tears of heart ache during the scene change.
Jesus, Gwen. Jesus.
